Kuma then concentrated in civil law, expecting this field to be a better fit for him. But because of long delays involved in concluding clients cases, Kuma became convinced that he would not reach his full potential as a civil lawyer.
Human Psychology and Behavioral Science soon captured the interest of Kuma and the study of Psychology became a turning point in Kuma’s career path. He then branched off into leadership and management techniques and attended many courses and workshops to increase his knowledge in these areas. With a good knowledge of leadership techniques, Kuma became a qualified trainer and consultant for ISO 9000 and 14000 systems including Total Quality Management (TQM) procedures.
With a continuing interest in understanding and exploring mechanisms for training people on attitudes and behavior, Kuma began studying varied disciplines in many European and other western countries and also included India. Some of these studies included Yoga and Naturopathy, Palm Healing Techniques, Alpha Dynamics, Brain Based Learning, Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP), Holographic Communication, Public Relations and Human Communication, and Ayurveda and Ayurvedic Psychiatry.
With a sound understanding of the above, Kuma obtained a post graduate qualification in Applied Psychology and studied towards a Doctorate of Psychiatry. Equipped with a license to practice as a psychotherapist, Kuma worked as a clinician to help treat patients with mild to serious mental illnesses.
Kuma, by this time, had developed a deep interest in personality and leadership training. He was very interested in areas such as memory and study techniques, communication, confidence and phobia curing processes, public speaking and presentation skills, and speech and language development. The highly successful special workshop models organized by Kuma on personality training and English speech training won him special commendation for his important contributions right throughout the past two decades.
